Inputs on Vigilance Awareness Week – 2020
As per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2020’ was observed in Goa Shipyard Limited from 27th October 2020 to 02nd November 2020 with the theme “Vigilant India, Prosperous India (“सतर्क भारत, समृद्ध भारत”).
The activities commenced with lighting of traditional lamp at the hands of CMD & Director (Ops) in the presence of other Senior Management on WebEx Platform (Virtual mode), followed by taking e-Integrity pledge for the Organization by CMD. On this occasion, CMD also addressed the senior executives regarding various Vigilance aspects.
During the week, various in-house & outdoor activities such as Essay writing, Elocution, poster making & slogan writing competition were organized for GSL employees, CISF personnel and for school & college students to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life as well as to create awareness on Corruption and its ill effects. These programmes were organized via virtual mode due to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of the agenda during the VAW, a Vendor meet followed by Grievance redressal session was held with GSL’s Commercial Department via Google meet (virtual meet). Feedbacks were taken from vendors who attended in large numbers.
On this occasion, CVO/GSL along with MDL’s Vigilance Team also conducted an interactive session on various issues related to procurement procedures and guidelines, which was well attended by the officers dealing with procurements in GSL as well as by other senior officers.
Further, Sensitization programme followed by Screening of CVC Documentary was conducted for Gram Panchayat, Chicalim- Goa.
On the concluding day, Cmde. B. B. Nagpal, CMD GSL addressed the Directors and other senior managements on various aspects related to corruption. He stated that GSL has maintained a good reputation as a Corruption free organization & we all must continue on the same path. He added that one must not fall prey to unethical practices while executing the work & should always work for the best interest of the organization. The week ended with prize distribution to all the winners during the Valedictory function held via Virtual mode on 02nd November 2020.
